Welcome to Motherhood... this is my online journal to share my experiences.

The last 7 years have been filled with the antics of my precious little man Sean. Now it will be the fun filled stories of not only my continued journey through motherhood, but Sean's journey as a big brother, and seeing the world through Andrew's eyes.

End On A Funny Note

I couldn't have today's blog entries end on a sad note, so I saved this for last. The above picture was sent to me by my brother, AFTER, some modification. The original picture Sean was reaching for his hoodie, but his hand was positioned perfectly for my brother's mischief. It is a funny picture. I'm in the process of Photoshopping it so it's on a Wanted poster in the sepia tones. I'll be sure to share it when it's completed.

Sad News...

Yesterday we had to put Sean's dog, Diva, to sleep.

Michael came home yesterday around 3:30pm and found Diva laying limp in her bed, and rushed her to the vet. When I arrived at the vet she had perked up after a dose glucose. However, what the vet had to say was very bleak. He said she was severally underweight for her age and had hardly any muscle so she was prone to hypoglycemia. Since she hadn't really grown since we got her, he suspected that she had a genetic disorder. Even if we got her well enough to get the diagnostic testing done to determine what was wrong, the 2 suspected diagnosis were not great. One they wouldn't be able to do anything about, and the other she had a 50/50 chance of making it through and would have to be on supplements and medication for the rest of her shortened life span. We had to make the tough decision to put another beloved dog to rest.

We will be picking up her ashes tomorrow and having a memorial for her, so Sean can say good-bye. She will be laid to rest with Chelsea and Benny in our backyard.

Bad Hair

Michael was being funny and slicked back his hair to look like one of the bad 80's hair do's. He started talking to me and Sean in a funny voice asking,

Michael: "Do you like my hair?"

Rosandra & Sean: "No!!"

Michael: "I think you do, you just don't want to admit it."

Sean: "No. REALLY I don't like it."

You have to love children's honesty.

New Look

Sean wasn't thrilled about the girlie colors for the blog about him, so check out our redesign. He's REALLY excited about it.

Mommy I REALLY REALLY Missed You!

I was in Houston all of last week. Leading up to the trip I was looking forward to some time to myself. I packed 7-8 months worth of scrapbooking magazines I haven't been able to read. What happens when I get to Houston? After 24 hours I wanted to be home.

Every afternoon and evening I'd call Sean to see how his day at school was and to wish him "Good night." His questions were always routine...

"Where are you?"
"When are you coming home?"
"Why are you in Houston?"

I got home Friday afternoon. All he could tell me was how much he missed me. He was so excited for bedtime because that meant he could have mommy lay down with him Friday night. So as we are laying there about to fall asleep, Sean rolls over and puts his little arm around my neck to cuddle with me. In his sweet voice he whispers to me "Mommy I REALLY REALLY missed you this week."

I'm SO glad to be home.
