Sad News...

Yesterday we had to put Sean's dog, Diva, to sleep.

Michael came home yesterday around 3:30pm and found Diva laying limp in her bed, and rushed her to the vet. When I arrived at the vet she had perked up after a dose glucose. However, what the vet had to say was very bleak. He said she was severally underweight for her age and had hardly any muscle so she was prone to hypoglycemia. Since she hadn't really grown since we got her, he suspected that she had a genetic disorder. Even if we got her well enough to get the diagnostic testing done to determine what was wrong, the 2 suspected diagnosis were not great. One they wouldn't be able to do anything about, and the other she had a 50/50 chance of making it through and would have to be on supplements and medication for the rest of her shortened life span. We had to make the tough decision to put another beloved dog to rest.

We will be picking up her ashes tomorrow and having a memorial for her, so Sean can say good-bye. She will be laid to rest with Chelsea and Benny in our backyard.
